St Mary’s GAA Club has a fantastic team of volunteers that are the heartbeat of all teams and the centralised functions of our Club. The GAA is built on volunteerism, and this is a core ethos of our sports. Right now, we are looking for more members to get involved in supporting St Mary’s and our various activities.

Our club has over 650 members and 22 teams playing across all codes and age groups. Everyone you notice delivering training sessions, organising events or activities, and undertaking administration work in the club is a volunteer. It is no mean feat!

There are many volunteer roles at team level and by their nature, they are the most visible volunteers – mentors, coaches, team admins, etc.

Our work is not all on the pitch. Behind the teams and their volunteers there are committees and individuals who look after all aspects of managing a club like St Mary’s. The central functions are vital to ensuring our teams have they need to train and to compete. You do not need to be a sports expert to offer your time.  Whatever skills you can bring, you can guarantee there are some interesting challenges they can be applied to.

The central functions are required to ensure the club has the infrastructure, policies and procedures to support our players and to ensure that we are adhering to and delivering on the requirements set out by our governing associations, the GAA and LGFA Associations.

While ensuring our day-to-day needs are met is of the utmost importance; we also need to continue to progress and develop as a club, to ensure a bright future for St Mary’s. We have several committees and project groups in the club that need and welcome your participation and involvement in whatever way you can. It is important for Club development that we have new people getting involved and bringing new and fresh ideas.  We would be delighted to have you join us.
