Men’s Senior Footballers
Our senior men’s team were narrowly beaten in their first division one league game of the year by St. Molaise Gaels on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-10. The game was a tight contest throughout and the teams were only separated by a first half goal. A young St. Mary’s team featured senior league debutants Fionn O’Hehir, Jay Cox, Finn Young, Eamon Flynn, Tom Gavin and Conor White. They battled hard and showed a lot of heart to push St. Molaise Gaels all the way. Next up for the seniors is a Kiernan Cup semi final versus Tourlestrane next weekend.

Ladies Senior Footballers
On Sunday morning our ladies senior team lost to Drumcliffe Rosses Point by a goal. The game finished on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-11 after a very entertaining hour of football. Shane Breheny’s team play Geevagh at home.
Men’s Junior Footballers
Division 3 of the league threw-in on Saturday night with a local derby between St. Johns senior team and St. Mary’s junior team. After a tight and closely fought first half, we fell away after the break and were beaten by 1-19 to 0-10. Jimmy Monaghan took a break from his leaving cert studies and starred up front, while Neil Smyth rolled back the years with 2 points from midfield, and Stephen Keenan returned after a 4 year hiatus from the sport to marshall our defence.

Ladies Junior Footballers
Our ladies junior footballers also played Drmcliffe/Rosses Point in Oxfield on Sunday morning. Unfortunately we were beaten by 3-10 to 0-8 but it was great to see so many young players featuring for our ladies team. Next weekend we welcome Tourlestrane to Kent Park.
U17 Boys
On Thursday night our u17’s travelled to Oxfield for the first of 4 St. Mary’s games out there this weekend. After a confident display we ran out 1-8 to 4-14 winners against Drumcliffe/Rosses-Point in the U17 A league.
U14 Girls
Happy Retirement

Sligo Hurlers
Well done to Sligo hurlers on finishing their league campaign unbeaten. We were delighted to welcome the team to our clubhouse terrace for their celebrations.
Sligo Footballers
The very best of luck to the Sligo mens senior football team taking on Mayo in the Connacht Senior Football Championship quarter final this Saturday in Markievicz Park. We would like to wish club representatives Paul Kilcoyne, Ryan Feehily, Nathan Rooney, Kyle Cawley, Cian Breheny and selector Mark Breheny all the best in the match, which is live on Sky Sports at 4.30pm.
