Club Notes: 11th July 2022

11-7-2022

Senior men

Well done to our senior mens team who got the better of Calry/St. Joseph’s on Friday night last. A quick start saw us lead from start to finish, however a goal for the visitors before half-time ensured the second half was a tight contest. The full-time whistle saw us taking the points winning by 0-14 to 1-9. Next Saturday evening we face a trip to Tourlestrane at 7pm.

Junior ladies

The junior ladies have qualified for the league final with a game to spare after a win away to Eoghan Rua on Sunday morning. After a slow start when we were 0-5 to 0-0 down in the early stages but we rallied to go in at half-time leading 4-7 to 1-6. We ran out eventual winners on a scoreline of 8-20 to 3-08 and will face either St. Patrick’s or St. Nathy’s in the final.

Junior men

The junior mens team got a well-earned victory over neighbours St. John’s in division 3 of the league. The game was even throughout with both teams competing well and exchanging scores. Our dangerous forward line ensured that we came out on top narrowly by 3-11 to 2-11. This coming Friday we face St. Patrick’s away at 8pm.

All-Ireland Final Tickets

We are again running a raffle for our two All-Ireland Football Final tickets, with all proceeds going towards the development of our club. All proceeds of the raffle go towards the development of our club. As the club continues to grow we are attempting to enhance our facilities for the benefit of all members. Recent developments include a new floodlit training pitch and a new sensory space for kids with additional needs, while we are currently upgrading the fencing around the Kent Park pitch. Our numbers are growing too – 2021 saw us fielding two adult ladies football teams for the first time, and in 2022 we have three adult mens teams, as well as over 100 kids attending our weekly Saturday Morning Coaching for Kids aged U6-U11.

The draw for the tickets will take place on Thursday July 21st at 9pm, and can be watched live on our Facebook page.
