Senior men

Our Phillips Medisize-sponsored senior men secured an important win against St. Molaise Gaels in round 5 of the division 1 league. The lads showed great character to dig out a victory as they found themselves two points down with five minutes remaining. Good scores from Nathan Rooney and Paul Kilcoyne put the game in the balance in injury time, before Michael Munnelly kicked the winner, curling over from the right hand side. Next up is Coolera/Strandhill in Ransboro on Sunday at 1pm.

Junior men

Both of our junior teams were beaten at the weekend. On Saturday evening in atrocious conditions Cloonacool came out on top against our division 3 team on a scoreline of 0-9 to 1-12. On Sunday our third team were beaten by Ballymote in division 4C. This Friday evening our Junior ‘A’ team our back in division 3 action against St. Michael’s.

Junior ladies

Our junior ladies team are back in action this weekend in division 4 of the league. They throw-in at 7.00pm against St. John’s in Cuilbeg on Saturday evening. Good luck to all!

U19 boys

Our U19 boys begin their championship on Wednesday evening, 29th June. They host Ballymote/Buninnadden at 7.30pm. Best of luck to all involved.

U13 boys

On Friday last both of our U13 boys teams competed in their league finals in Scarden. Our older team were beaten narrowly by St. John’s in the ‘A’ final with both teams playing out a highly entertaining game. Hard luck to those involved after a valiant effort came up just short.

The younger team had a fantastic victory over St. Patrick’s in the ‘C’ final. The boys showed excellent skill and passion to win the cup on a scoreline of 5-11 to 1-10. Congrats to all involved on a great win!

GAA for Dads and Lads

Our GAA for Dads and Lads programme came to a conclusion last Thursday after a very enjoyable six week programme. A huge thanks to Adrian Flynn for organising this initiative as part of the Irish Life Healthy Clubs programme. We will have plenty more initiatives to come as part of this, so stay tuned.

A big congratulations to committed club volunteer and Gaelic football newcomer Simon Buckley who received an All-Star for his impressive performances over the six weeks!
