Clifford Cup

We hosted the latest instalment of the Clifford Cup on Saturday June 3rd and it was a rousing success. Games were held across Kent Park and Mitchell Curley Park as we hosted St. Molaise Gaels, Corofin, Ballina Stephenites, Castlebar Mitchells, Four Masters, Clann na Gael and Glencar Manorhamilton. A big thanks to all volunteers who helped to have our grounds in great condition for the day, and to all who assisted throughout the tournament ensuring it ran smoothly. A word of thanks also to Lucy Brennan and the Parks Department of Sligo County Council who helped to ensure Mitchell Curley Park was in top condition for the day. We received fantastic feedback from the participating clubs on our hospitality and the tournament as a whole.

Congratulations to Corofin who were crowned champions of the Clifford Cup 2022, with an amazing point in the last minute to secure victory over Castlebar Mitchells!

U16 girls

Well done to our U16 girls who became league champions on Saturday evening May 28th. A brilliant team performance saw us come out on top by 3-13 to 4-5 vs. Shamrock Gaels, and Captain Aimee Keane accepted the cup. Well done to all involved on a terrific victory, including all who came out to support and Sligo Park Hotel who are the team sponsors!

Huge congrats to our U15 boys on being crowned division 1 league champions recently, also! They were winners over St. John’s in the Division 1 league final the day after our U16 girls. The lads were well set up and took control of the game early on, eventually winning out 6-18 to 0-4. Congratulations to all involved in and thanks to all who supported on the day .

U14 Girls

We have fielded two U14 girls teams in this years league. On Friday June 3rd our division 1 team narrowly lost the league final to CT Gaels, while our second team played in division 3b. This ensured that all players on a panel of 36 saw game time throughout the league.

Junior men

Well done to our Junior men who were victorious over Tourlestrane at the weekend. A fascinating contest saw our team snatch a 1 point victory 1-12 to 1-13 with a late free in added time. This leaves our juniors sitting second in division 3 of the league, continuing their strong form after winning the Junior North/East Spring League!

On Friday night gone, our junior B men had their first defeat of the season, falling to Shamrock Gaels 2-11 to 1-6. They remain top of the division 4c table with three wins from four matches, and face Ballymote Round Towers in the last league game on Sunday June 26th.

Senior men

Our senior men were defeated by Shamrock Gaels on Sunday, by 1-12 to 0-8. This was their second defeat in three games, following a strong victory over St. Farnan’s last time out which finished 4-12 to 0-7. Next up is St. Molaise Gaels on Friday night June 24th at 8pm in Kent Park.

New Scoreboard

A massive thanks to Oates Breheny who have sponsored a new scoreboard for the club. The new scoreboard has already seen action for games in Kent Park, including in the Clifford Cup final as seen below, and looks great. Big thanks to Oates Breheny for their continued support.Screenshot at
